Hiram College’s Scarborough School of Business and Communication invites applicants for a part-time (9-month) instructor in Sport Management beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the undergraduate and graduate Sport Management programs and be a collaborative member of the department in terms of planning, assessing, and enhancing academic programming.

The successful applicant will have the educational experience in sport management necessary to teach both introductory and advanced courses, and will be expected to be an engaging educator who is able to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. Position Purpose

The Administrative Assistant provides essential front-office and operational support to the staff of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. This position serves as a first point of contact for donors, alumni, trustees, and guests, and plays a central role in the day-to-day coordination of communications, scheduling, events, data management, and office operations. The Administrative Assistant works closely with all members of the Development and Alumni Relations team and must exercise discretion, sound judgment, and a high degree of professionalism in all interactions.

Key Accountabilities

Front Office & Communications

• Greet and welcome office guests, donors, alumni, and trustees, providing a warm and professional first impression.

• Triage and manage the office’s general email inbox, routing inquiries to appropriate staff members in a timely manner.

• Answer and direct incoming phone calls; take and relay messages as needed.

• Interact regularly with senior officers of the College, major donors, and trustees with discretion and good judgment.

• Maintain office supply inventory and place orders to ensure the department is consistently well-stocked.

Scheduling & Logistics

• Coordinate travel logistics for development staff, including transportation, lodging, and itinerary preparation.

• Schedule and book appointments, donor and prospect meetings, and campus visits for department staff.

• Set up and manage calendar invites and Zoom and virtual meeting links for internal and external meetings.

Event Management

• Support planning and execution of department events, including board meetings, donor receptions, and alumni programming.

• Enter and maintain event attendee data in Salesforce and other event management systems.

• Prepare informational materials for board members and event participants.

• Attend events as needed to provide on-site support.

Mailings, Data Entry & Reporting

• Coordinate and assist with all in-house and vendor mailings, including donor solicitations, stewardship pieces, event invitations, and endowment reports.

• Pull mailing lists, update spreadsheets, edit letters, and merge documents for all in-house appeals.

• Enter and maintain accurate donor and prospect records in Salesforce; assist with prospect list maintenance.

• Generate standard Salesforce reports to support the work of development and alumni relations staff.

Website & Digital Content

• Perform routine updates and refreshes to Development and Alumni Relations web pages.

• Create event pages and calendar entries in the College’s content management system as needed.

Meeting Support & Administration

• Record and prepare accurate minutes for department and board meetings.

• Prepare expense-related forms, purchase orders, payment requisitions, and reconcile credit card statements.

Skills & Knowledge

Hiram College invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the operation and administration of the Hiram College Athletic Department. The College is a member of the Presidents Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III.

Position Purpose

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will provide for care in prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic related injuries/illnesses under the direction of the team physician for 24 intercollegiate sports. They will assist with the daily operation of the athletic training facility including supervision of medical coverage for practice and events, supervision of student first aiders, appropriate record keeping practices, and facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform evaluation of and provide treatment/ rehabilitation plan for athletic related injuries and illness.  Communicate with coaches and athletes regarding the nature of injury, course of treatment and participation status.
  • Counsel athletes in injury prevention techniques (ie: nutrition, sports pyschology, pre performance preparation, etc)
  • Oversee daily operation of the athletic training facility including record keeping, student worker supervision and maintenance.
  • Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with NCAA, PAC and Hiram College policy implementation and development
  • Provide first aid coverage and care for practices and assigned events.
  • Travel with athletic teams to provide sports medicine care as assigned

Position Purpose

The Controller will provide dynamic leadership and strategic oversight of the College’s financial and accounting operations. The primary focus of this role is to modernize and restructure the Business Office, evaluating existing workflows to build a highly efficient, cross-trained, and modern service department. Acting as a close partner to the CFO/VP of Finance, this position will secure institutional assets, ensure rigid regulatory compliance, and support long-term financial sustainability through advanced data analysis, forecasting, and policy development.

Core Rebuilding & Restructuring Focus

  • Department Modernization: Continually evaluate Business Office workflows (accounts payable, procurement, student receivables, and cash receipts). Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase operational capacity and campus-wide support.
  • Team Restructuring: Assess current staffing roles and responsibilities. Establish training programs, design clear process documentation, and implement a robust cross-training matrix to ensure zero gap in critical daily coverage.
  • Policy & Control Overhaul: Develop, publish, and enforce modern, GAAP-compliant internal controls and accounting policies from the ground up. Translate complex compliance rules into easy-to-understand procedures for non-financial campus personnel.

Technical & Operational Responsibilities

  • Audit & Compliance: Coordinate the fiscal year-end external audit. Prepare financial statements, debt service coverage analyses, and DOE ratio reporting. Present and translate complex audit findings directly to Senior Staff and the Board of Trustees.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce standard GAAP year-end financial statements, quarterly bank compliance statements, and insightful monthly management reports detailing short- and long-term financial performance.
  • Treasury & Bond Management: Oversee long-term cash projections, daily balances, lines of credit, and Federal funds drawdowns. Monitor, forecast, and report on bond covenants to mitigate institutional risk.
  • Specialized Higher Ed Accounting: Unitize quarterly endowment fund gifts, create donor investment reports, manage pledge receivables (including discount modeling and collectability analysis), and handle grant/contract accounting.
  • Taxation & Governance: Prepare and execute annual tax forms (990, 990T, W-3, 1098, 1099s). Actively participate in Board-level Audit, Investment, and Finance committee meetings.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or MBA is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressively responsible financial management experience in complex organizations, including a proven track record of supervising teams and spearheading process turnarounds.
  • Sector Knowledge: Deep accounting experience in non-profit organizations required; Higher Education background highly preferred.
  • Software Mastery: Demonstrated proficiency with Ellucian Banner (highly preferred) or a similar higher education ERP system alongside advanced MS Office skills.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of experience in fundraising, sales, or relationship management.
  • Proven success in cultivating and closing significant gifts or sales.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build authentic, lasting relationships with diverse constituencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft persuasive proposals and correspondence.

Position Purpose

The Graduate Assistant Football Coach position is a 10-month position which reports to the Head Football Coach and Director of Athletics. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the recruitment, retention, and day-to-day operations of the Hiram College Swimming program. Position Purpose

The graduate assistant swimming coach will work directly with the men’s and women’s swim program and assist the head coach with all facets of the day-to-day operations of the program in compliance with Hiram College, PAC and NCAA policies and procedures.

  • Maintain positive supportive relationships with students.
  • Assist with the Testing Hub activities as needed (monitor and proctor student testing).
  • Ensure compliance with secure testing practices and student accommodations.
  • Communicate student progress and follow department procedures related to documentation of progress and needs.
  • Communicate accurate and timely information to the leadership team of the Thrive Learning Center™.
  • Work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents who are a part of the Thrive community, and with Hiram College faculty and staff.

The Co-coordinator is responsible for all Testing Hub operations, including maintaining test security, monitoring and proctoring all exams, and supporting the leadership team of the Thrive Learning Center™ and the OSDA, in a manner consistent with the College mission and the mission of the Thrive Learning Center™.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work cooperatively with Thrive and OSDA staff, students, parents, and Hiram College faculty and staff.
  • Coordinate the Testing Hub, including ensuring test security, following testing protocols, scheduling tests with students, and maintaining clear communication with faculty.
  • Share coordinator responsibilities with other staff.
  • Monitor and proctor student testing.
  • Communicate clearly to college faculty and staff regarding testing procedures and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with student accommodations.
  • Supervise the Thrive Chill Spot.
  • Attend to detail and follow protocols to ensure test security.
  • Maintain day-to-day operations of the Testing Hub.
  • Assist Thrive leadership team with special events, ordering materials, and other administrative functions when needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and other departmental gatherings and activities.

Hiram College invites applications for an adjunct position in Biology to teach two in-person microbiology courses, with labs, during the Fall 2026 semester. The courses are: BIOL 23800 Medical Microbiology plus lab and BIOL 33800 Microbiology plus lab. 

Requirements are: a minimum of master’s degree in biology, a master’s degree or PhD in related field with experience teaching introductory biology, or master’s degree in related field with at least 18 hours of graduate-level biology coursework. Adjunct instructors are hired on a course-by-course basis each term. Duties are limited to teaching unless otherwise specified.  

The Biology program is located within the School of Science and Technology, alongside Chemistry, Computer Science, and Mathematics.
