Nursing Degree Program Summary

The Department of Nursing at Hiram College prepares clinically competent, ethically grounded, and socially and culturally responsible professional nurses who are ready to think critically and participate as leaders in the delivery of health and nursing care. The liberal arts tradition as part of our bachelor’s in nursing program prepares students to think analytically and respond holistically in fast-paced healthcare settings.

This tradition, grounded in the understanding that knowledge is interrelated and interdisciplinary, prepares students to be keen and critical observers of the world, identify issues, determine alternatives, and participate in solutions. These abilities, combined with the knowledge and skills obtained in the nursing degree program, are essential to prepare students to be ready to serve as professional nurses.
