Services and Resources for Commuter Students

Commuter Services (CS) provides support, services, and communications to commuter students. CS is committed to supporting and serving our commuter student population and strives to ensure their success and connections to Hiram College.

Lockers at the Service Center

Commuter Lounges & Lockers

The Commuter Lounge is located in the Kennedy Center to the left of the Kennedy Center Lounge. The lounge is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, unless the College is closed for holidays or breaks.

Lockers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All locks for the lockers must be obtained from the Campus Safety Office.  Any non-college issued locks located on the lockers will be removed and any unauthorized belongings will be stored in Campus Safety for a maximum of 30 calendar days.

Computer Lab Access & Hours

Computers are available in the Kennedy Center Computer Lab (lower level) 24 hours a day, seven days a week, unless the College is closed for holidays or breaks. There is no cost to use the computers. Computers are also available in the Library for students to use (Library Hours)

Dining Options

Dining Plan Options

The Dining Hall isn’t just set up to serve residential students. As a commuter student, you can also enjoy meals in the Dining Hall as part of your daily schedule. Commuter students can pay for individual meals at the Dining Hall using cash, credit card, or Terrier Cash. Parking on Campus

COMMUTER STUDENT PARKING

All commuter student vehicles are required to have the proper commuter parking permit for the current academic year. A valid Hiram College parking permit is required to park in any campus parking space.

Overnight Housing

Temporary overnight housing due to inclement weather, unforeseen circumstances, or late academic commitments is available to commuter students. A limited amount of single rooms are available to commuters who live more than walking distance to the campus. The cost is $25.00 per night. Linens will be provided by the College. Cash or checks are accepted. To make arrangements to stay overnight, you should contact the Office of Residential Education by calling 330.569.5232 Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. After business hours, reservations can be made by calling the Area Coordinator on duty at 330.569.4025.
