The College ranked 15th among Midwest Regional Colleges in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings. The Midwest Regional category includes institutions from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Additionally, Hiram ranked 11th as a Top Performer on Social Mobility in the Midwest, a ranking introduced last year that measures how well schools graduated students who received federal Pell Grants, and 20th for Best Value in the Midwest, a category that looks at both academic quality and cost of education.
Hiram also landed a place in two additional rankings. The College ranked fifth among the Midwest’s Most Innovative Schools, a ranking based on most innovative improvements in terms of curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology, or facilities. Finally,Hiram ranked 11th for the Midwest’s Best Undergraduate Teaching, a category solely based on nominations from a peer assessment survey. Hiram College is the only Ohio college to rank on these two lists.
In response to the rankings, Hiram College President David Haney stated, “It is a tribute to Hiram’s dedication to our students’ success that we once again rank very high among regional colleges in the Midwest. It is even more impressive that we are the top-ranked college in Ohio for accomplishments that really matter to us: enabling the social mobility of our students, innovation, and high-quality undergraduate teaching.”
