Campus Involvement Resources

The Office of Campus Involvement is here to help you find your fit, host student engagement events, and support student clubs and organizations. On this page you’ll find all the resources needed to start a club, host your own event, book club spaces, and more! Explore below to find the resources you need to help your club thrive!

The Assumption of Risk Release and Waiver of Liability is for all indoor and outdoor activities taking place during the Academic Year. This form needs to be submitted on an annual basis.

All students must have this form on file to attend events and excursions sponsored by Hiram College, such as by the Office of Campus Involvement. If you do not have this form on file you will not be permitted to attend and/or participate in certain events.

Planning a successful club event can be stressful, but so fun! Don’t worry, we are here to help. Our Event Planning page is full of resources and helpful tips to help you develop your next student org event! Need additional help or have questions about how to plan a successful event?

Promoting your event

If you plan to promote your event by hanging posters on campus bulletin boards, the posters must be approved by the director of OCI.

Finally, to promote your event, you’ll want to submit details to Hiram Highlights! This not only ensures your event is sent out in a weekly email of events to campus, but that it is also included on the student events calendar on hiram.edu.

Submissions to Hiram Highlights can be made here. Events must be submitted by Friday at noon the week prior to your event.

Reserving Technology

The Office of Campus Involvement (OCI) Supply Checkout Agreement Form is used by student clubs and organizations at Hiram College to request and borrow supplies for events, meetings, and activities. This form ensures that supplies are tracked properly, returned on time, and kept in good condition for all student groups to use.

Supplies available:

  • Cornhole
  • Yard Connect Four
  • Giant Jenga
  • Giant UNO
  • Yard Putt-Putt Golf
  • Dodgeballs
  • Popcorn Machine
  • Karaoke
  • Bingo Supplies

To reserve a space for your club to meet in on campus, you’ll need to use Mazevo. This platform allows you to see all open spaces at the date and time you’d like to meet and reserve any resources you might need.

At Hiram, any student has the opportunity to start a club of their choosing! Anime club? Equestrian club? Ice skating club? The opportunities are endless, so if you don’t see a club you’d enjoy on our list of student clubs and organizations, then you can start your own!

Guidelines

Student Senate is the governing body of clubs on campus. The procedure for starting a new club and becoming an active club is below! To start your club, you’ll need to meet with Senate’s VP of Activities to get started. They can be contacted at senate@hiram.edu. Here’s the steps you’ll need to follow:

  • Gather the three necessary materials: an interest list of students, a tentative group of officers, and a club constitution. (Download a blank sample constitution below).
  • Set up a meeting with the VP of Activities to review the constitution and discuss club questions, concerns, and suggestions.
  • At least one officer must attend a designated Student Senate meeting to present the club for approval.

Every active club on campus can have an approved budget allocated by the Funding You Board. This is based on your club tier level designated by the FYB, which is determined by factors such as club age, involvement, number of club members etc.

Clubs and individuals also have the opportunity to request additional funds throughout the year.
