Hiram College has again been named to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Transfer Honor Roll for 2026, a national recognition that honors colleges and universities demonstrating excellence in supporting community college transfer students. Hiram is one of only 275 institutions nationwide to receive the distinction this year.

The Transfer Honor Roll recognizes institutions that have created strong pathways for transfer students to successfully complete their bachelor’s degrees. Colleges and universities are evaluated using data from the National Student Clearinghouse and PTK Connect, Phi Theta Kappa’s online platform that connects high-achieving community college students with transfer opportunities. Institutions are assessed on five key areas: transfer student success, credit mobility, financial support, recruitment and admissions practices, and campus engagement.

“This recognition reflects Hiram College’s commitment to ensuring transfer students feel welcomed, supported, and positioned for success from the moment they arrive on campus,” said Jim Malz ’87, interim president of Hiram College. “Transfer students bring valuable perspectives and experiences that strengthen our campus community, and we remain dedicated to providing the personalized support, academic opportunities, and clear pathways they need to achieve their educational goals.”

Hiram has long prioritized creating a seamless transfer experience through individualized advising, generous transfer credit evaluations, transfer scholarships, and strong partnerships with two-year institutions. These efforts help students transition confidently into the Hiram community while staying on track toward graduation.

More than 1,100 colleges and universities completed PTK’s institutional profile for consideration this year, with only the top-performing institutions earning a place on the 2026 Transfer Honor Roll.
