Hiram is providing me with more unique skills & knowledge and helping me grow as a person & leader.

Campus Involvement

Freeman has found many ways to get involved on campus. Competing on the Cross Country and Track & Field teams, she truly embraces the life of a student athlete, balancing academics and athletics. Also participating and taking charge in many other extracurriculars, she likes to stay busy. Freeman serves as the Vice-President of Finance in Student Senate, President of Dungeons and Dragons (DnD), and Secretary of the Theatre Guild. She is also a member of the Terrier Activities Board (TAB), PRYSM (Hiram’s LGBTQ+ club), and holds several jobs on campus.

It is within these roles and organizations that she has formed some of her fondest memories at Hiram. “My favorite memory was doing Rockin Misummer Night’s Dream – the musical based on Shakespeare’s play,” said Freeman.

Outside of the classroom

Freeman says that she is very passionate about learning outside of the classroom. “I really love learning about new and random topics that I wouldn’t normally learn about at school,” she said. Her favorite academic experience so far has been her last study abroad/study away trip. She has taken part in two of these trips, one exploring the west coast _____. The last trip she went on was exploring creativity and community in Berlin and Austria. Freeman expressed that “both were fun while also being genuinely interesting and engaging learning wise.”

When she’s not busy with schoolwork or other activities, Freeman enjoyswatching tv and playing video games. Her favorite study spot on campus is Bowler Hall because of its comfy, distraction-free, and cool environment.

If you ask Freeman to describe Hiram in two words, he will proudly say: beautiful and freeing.
