Sebastian Regalado ’28
Chemistry Major
Photography Minor
Hiram really is more like a big family than a school.
When Sebastian Regalado arrived at Hiram College, he brought with him a vibrant mix of ambition, culture, and a strong sense of purpose. Born in the Dominican Republic, Sebastian came to Hiram as a chemistry major with a minor in photography, drawn by the opportunity to grow as both a student and an athlete. “The track and field team gave me a great opportunity to be the best version of myself,” he said.
In just his first year, Sebastian has already made a lasting impact on campus. In addition to competing on the track and field team, he serves as a Resident Assistant and is the founder and president of the Hispanic Culture Club. His leadership is fueled by a deep passion for community. “I’m really passionate about helping others and brightening someone’s day,” he says. “Some people just need to hear positive words.”
The value of community
Sebastian’s academic journey has been just as meaningful. His favorite class so far— “Substance and Drug Use and Abuse Honors”—left a lasting impression, teaching him life lessons he plans to carry forward. Outside the classroom, he enjoys studying and socializing in Miller Hall’s welcoming lobby and the Kennedy Center’s bustling Bistro.
With his eyes set on a future in dentistry, Sebastian is working toward becoming an orthodontist. He recently earned his Dental Assistant certification and credits Hiram for giving him the academic tools and personal growth needed to pursue his goals. “Hiram has motivated me and taught me about the prerequisites for dental school, but also about values and community.”

working towards the future
Whether he’s snapping photos for the athletics department, spending late nights with friends, or reflecting on how much he’s grown since his first day, Sebastian’s Hiram experience can be summed up in three words: incredible, life-changing, and amazing.
As he looks forward to sophomore year, one thing is clear, Sebastian Regalado is just getting started.
