I’m really passionate about always being a helping hand because there will always be someone that needs it.

Junior Kevin Dycks came to Hiram from Dallas, Texas, but he chose Hiram for the small, inclusive community it provides to students. Coming from a large family with nine siblings, Dycks found the tight-knit community of Hiram to feel a lot like home.

As a management major with minors in entrepreneurship and communication, Dycks hopes to pursue a career in real estate after graduation. While he studies for his future, Dycks is also active in the campus community.

Building community

He spends much of his time in the Coleman Center, competing with the football and track teams and working out. He also loves spending time studying throughout the Library. As an involved member of the community, Dycks also loves serving other students as a resident assistant. “I’m really passionate about always being a helping hand because there will always be someone that needs it,” he said.

As he works to help build a community at Hiram, Dycks has also found his home away from home. From finding his best friends on the football team, to meeting his fiancé on campus, Dycks has found a community and a home on Hiram’s campus.
