Hiram’s chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, a communication honor society, welcomed three new members during its fall 2022 ceremony. As the National Communication Association’s official honor society, Lambda Pi Eta recognizes outstanding undergraduate students in the field of communication. The Zeta Lambda Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta at Hiram College was established with the intention of fostering community and scholarship within the communication department at Hiram College. 

The Fall 2022 inductees include: 

  • Riley Elliott ’23, Communication and Sport Management Major 
  • Elizabeth Jaber ’22, Psychology Major, Communication Minor 
  • Hannah Petit ’22, Communication Major 

To become a member, students must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in 60 semester hours, a 3.25 GPA in 12 semester hours of communication courses and be in the top 35% of their graduating class. 

The name Lambda Pi Eta comes from the Greek letters representing the three methods of persuasion described by Aristotle in his book, “Rhetoric.” Those being logos (Lambda), pathos (Pi), and ethos (Eta).  

Members were inducted by chapter president Sydney Finley-Houston.
