HOUSING SELECTION PROCESS 2026 – 2027
- All rooms on campus will be available except those set aside as needed for medical accommodation, incoming first year students (first year floors, and sections on floors), and other needs determined by the Residence Life and Commuter Services Office.
- Lottery Numbers are utilized for Specialty Housing selection orders and cut-offs for housing groups. It is not uncommon for there to be groups or individuals who do not meet the Lottery Number cut-off for selection. For doubles and groups, the Lottery Number that will be used will be the total of all Lottery Numbers in the pair or group. This year, 1 is the best Lottery Number and 698 is the lowest Lottery Number for returning student selection. You can view your Lottery Number on your profile on eRezLife. Lottery Numbers are assigned based on completed credit hours that are on file with the Registrar’s Office at the conclusion of the past Fall semester. All active students, both residential and commuters, are given a Lottery Number regardless of their intent to return to campus next Fall. If students do not wish to participate in Specialty Housing, their lottery number will be used to determine their selection time during general housing selection.
- All questions regarding lottery numbers must be received via email to the Residence Life and Commuter Services Office by February 26, 2026, at 5 pm.
- If a student is signing up for a double room on campus as part of non-specialty housing, the roommate with the higher number “pulls in” the roommate with a lower selection number.
- Rooms must be filled to capacity, or another student may choose to live in the room. The Office of Residence Life and Commuter Services reserve the right to fill rooms through the placement of students or the consolidation of students in under assigned spaces.
