The Hiram College women’s swimming and diving team has been honored with a Team Scholar All-America award from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, announced the CSCAA.
The Terriers joined a CSCAA-record 638 teams from across the NCAA landscape in earning the award. The Scholar-Team honor is given in recognition of any team that achieves a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the school’s previous semester.
The Hiram squad was one of seven North Coast Athletic Conference programs to earn the Team Scholar All-America award. Finishing the semester with a 3.47 GPA, the group posted the highest average of the seven conference schools that made the list.
The award for the women’s program marks the fourth-consecutive semester under head coach Brian O’Neill that the Terriers have made the list.
“I am incredibly proud of this accomplishment for our women’s team,” remarked O’Neill. “This group of gifted student-athletes is comprised of some of the most driven competitors, both in and out of the pool. Their commitment to excellence and to always trying to improve is inspiring.”
