ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Hiram College women’s soccer team was shut out by St. John Fisher (N.Y.) College today (Sunday, Oct. 2) in a non-conference game in Rochester, N.Y. [Game Stats]
Following today’s outcome, the Terriers fall to 3-4-1 overall and the Cardinals improve to 3-5 overall for the season.
St. John Fisher scored its first goal early in the first half, just 2:43 into the game to take a 1-0 lead. The score would be the only points of the first period as the Cardinals led 1-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Fisher extended its lead to 2-0 with another score during the 50th minute and went on to put the game away at the 71:07 minute mark with its final goal of the game en route to the 3-0 shutout.
Freshman goalkeeper Lisa Silvestro (London, Ont./St. Thomas Aquinas) started the game and played all 90 minutes, but would suffer the loss and is now 1-3-1 overall. She allowed three goals and made eight saves.
Hiram will conclude its five-game road trip on Tuesday, Oct. 4 when it travels to University Heights for a non-conference game against John Carroll University. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
