The Hiram College women’s soccer team increased its win streak to four games with a 1-0 win against Geneva (Pa.) College in a non-conference game in Beaver Falls, Pa. marking the best start in program history.
Following a scoreless first half, Hiram (4-0) broke the stalemate when freshman Robynn McGroarty(Oakville, Ontario/Loyola Catholic) continued her impressive play with her sixth goal of the season at the 58:15 minute mark of the second period. Geneva (2-2) recorded five shots in the final 45 minutes, but failed to score the equalizer as the Terriers went on to claim the 1-0 victory.
In net for Hiram, sophomore Kailie Reed (Wadsworth) played all 90 minutes and tallied five saves. She also improves to 4-0 on the season with the win.
The Terriers will be in action on Saturday, Sept. 14 when they host Hilbert (N.Y.) College in a non-conference game at Charles A. Henry Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
