Hiram College sophomore midfielder/forward Samantha Zuponcic (Mantua/Crestwood) has been named this week’s North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Hiram posted a 1-0-1 record this past week with a 0-0 double overtime tie against Heidelberg University and a 3-0 shutout against Ohio Wesleyan University.
Individually, Zuponcic scored two of the team’s three goals against the Battling Bishops on Friday night (Sept. 28) in Hiram to finish the week with a total of four points. For the season, Zuponcic leads the team in goals scored with six, including two game-winning goals, and is tied for the team-lead in overall points with 12. In addition, she has taken a team-best 18 shots so far this season, with 13 shots on goal, and has a 33.3 shot percentage.
Hiram will play its only game this week on the road when the Terriers travel to Springfield for a NCAC matchup against Wittenberg University. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
