UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OHIO — The Hiram College women’s soccer team was defeated by John Carroll University, 2-0, tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 4) in a non-conference game in University Heights. [Game Stats]
With the loss, the Terriers drop to 3-6-1 overall and the Blue Streaks improve to 7-5 overall for the season.
Following a scoreless first half, JCU broke the stalemate with a goal at the 56:18 minute mark to grab a 1-0 lead. The Blue Streaks added to their lead shortly after during the 60th minute to take a 2-0 advantage. The two goals would prove to be all that JCU needed as Hiram was held scoreless the remainder of the game as the Blue Streaks captured a 2-0 victory.
Freshman Lisa Silvestro (London, Ont./St. Thomas Aquinas) got the start and played all 90 minutes, but was given the loss and is now 1-4-1 overall. She gave up two goals and made 18 saves.
Hiram will look to end its three-game losing streak when it hosts Malone University in a non-conference game at the Hiram Soccer Complex. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
