The Hiram College women’s soccer team fell to non-conference opponent Otterbein by a 2-0 score on Wednesday evening.

With the loss, the Terriers fall to 5-5-1 on the season, while the Cardinals improve to 4-2-3.

Otterbein found the back of the net early in each half.

Melinda Stemen scored just 3:59 into the contest to put Otterbein up 1-0.

Alvi Shivley added a goal at the 48:35 mark of the match, making the score 2-0.

Sophomore Ashley Myer (Parma) led Hiram with two shots in the contest.

Junior goalie Kailie Reed (Wadsworth) made three saves in one half of action and freshman Alina Mille (Medina) made one stop in one half. Reed falls to 5-5-1 on the season.

Otterbein held a 11-6 advatage in shots and a 9-0 edge in corner kicks.

Hiram will return to action Saturday, when it returns to NCAC play against Denison at 1:00 p.m. at Henry Field.
