The Hiram College women’s soccer team was defeated by Ohio Wesleyan University, 2-0, in the North Coast Athletic Conference and season finale in Delaware.
Ohio Wesleyan (5-12, 2-6 NCAC) scored both goals in the first period beginning with an unassisted goal by Elizabeth Riggio at the 13:02 minute mark. The Battling Bishops added to their lead during the 28th minute with a goal by Kristie Prendergast that gave OWU a 2-0 advantage at halftime.
Hiram (9-7-2, 1-5-2 NCAC) outshot OWU, 27-14, for the game, including 17-9 in the second half. But the Terriers could not get one of them past the Bishop goaltender as OWU went on to post the 2-0 shutout victory.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kailie Reed (Wadsworth) played all 90 minutes, but suffered the loss and ends the season with an 8-7-2 overall record. She allowed two goals and had five saves against the Bishops.
