HIRAM, OHIO — The Hiram College women’s soccer team lost a 1-0 decision against Case tonight (Friday, Oct. 21) in a non-conference game at Charles A. Henry Field. [Game Stats]
Following tonight’s game, the Terriers fall to 3-11-2 overall and the Spartans improve to 11-2-2 overall for the season.
Following a scoreless first half, the first goal of the game wouldn’t come until the 71:04 minute mark of the second period when Case’s Alyssa Lauzau found the back of the net to give the Spartans a 1-0 edge. The lone goal would prove to be all that Case would need as the Spartans held Hiram scoreless in the final minutes, resulting in a 1-0 victory.
In goal for the Terriers, junior Kate Valaitis (Lewis Center/Olentangy) played all 90 minutes, but would suffer the loss, dropping her to 2-5 overall for the season. She allowed one goal and made eight saves.
Hiram will host Kenyon College on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in a North Coast Athletic Conference game and home finale at Henry Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
