UNIVERSITY CIRCLE, OHIO — The Hiram College women’s soccer team was defeated by Case, 5-0, tonight (Wednesday, Oct. 6) in a non-conference game in University Circle. [Game Stats]
Following tonight’s game, the Terriers are now 4-7-2 overall and the Spartans improve to 7-3-1 overall for the season.
Case scored the only goal of the first half, but would do so in quick fashion, with a score by Leah Levey at the 4:20 minute mark.
In the second half, Case tallied four goals, beginning with a score during the 61st minute by Kendra Simmons to make the score 2-0. The Spartans then went on to add goals from Rachel Bourque, Leah Levey (her second of the game) and Rebecca Vaughan en route to the 5-0 shutout.
In goal for the Terriers, senior Emily Bristol (Worcester, N.Y./Worcester Central) played all 90 minutes and droped to 4-6-2 overall for the season. She allowed five goals and made six saves.
Hiram will travel to Springfield for a North Coast Athletic Conference game against Wittenberg University on Saturday, Oct. 9. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
