GAMBIER, OHIO — The Hiram College women’s soccer team was defeated by Kenyon College, 4-0, today (Saturday, Oct. 16) in a North Coast Athletic Conference game in Gambier. [Game Stats]
With the loss, the Terriers are now 4-10-2 overall and 0-4 in the NCAC. The Ladies improve to 6-6-2 overall and 1-1-2 NCAC.
Kenyon struck early with its first goal of the opening half at the 3:05 minute mark from Caddie Durrett for a 1-0 lead. The Ladies added another score at the midway point of the period from Meg Murphy during the 27th minute to lead 2-0 at the intermission.
In the second half, Kenyon added two more goals beginning with an unassisted score by Hannah Lodi at the 56:23 mark and an unassisted marker from Heather Amato during the 86th minute en route to the 4-0 shutout.
Hiram senior goalkeeper Emily Bristol (Worcester, N.Y./Worcester Central) played all 90 minutes and is now 4-9-2 overall this season with the loss. She allowed four goals and recorded 10 saves.
The Terriers will look to end their five-game losing streak on Wednesday, Oct. 20 when they host Ohio Wesleyan University in a NCAC game at the Hiram Soccer Complex. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
