The Hiram College women’s golf team placed fifth after the final round of the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational at Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware. [FINAL Results]
Hiram ended the two-day tournament with a combined team total of 846 strokes (440+406=846) to place fifth of five teams. DePauw (Ind.) University captured the team titile with 650 strokes (322+328=650) and was followed by Allegheny (Pa.) College in second with 652 strokes (324+328=652). Host school OWU rounded out the top three with 718 strokes (356+362=718).
Freshman Megan Jennings (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) led Hiram with a two-day event total of 181 strokes (98+83=181) and placed 15th overall. Freshman Alexa Griswold(Conneaut) was second with a tournament total 212 strokes (102+110=212). Freshman Jenelle Bayus (Cortland/Lakeview) was third with 226 strokes (122+104=226). Freshman Taylor Stott (Akron/Archbishop Hoban) had the fourth-lowest score on thet eam of 232 strokes (123+109=232). Rounding out the Hiram scorers was junior Carrie Dyer (Canton/McKinley) who carded a 129 on the final day to finish the tournament with a total of 247 strokes (118+129=247).
Hiram will compete in The College of Wooster Fall Invitational next weekend, Saturday-Sunday (Oct. 6-7) at the Wooster Country Club in Wooster.
