OSTRANDER, OHIO — The Hiram College women’s golf team finished sixth following the final round of the Bump Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University today (Sunday, Apr. 17) at Mill Creek Golf Club in Ostrander.
The Terriers finished the two-day event with a team-total of 861 strokes (410+451=861) to place sixth out of seven teams. Ohio Northern University won the overall event with a team total of 688 strokes (346+342=688) and was followed by Otterbein College in second with 700 strokes (345+355=700). Rounding out the top three schools was Capital University with 806 strokes (393+413=806).
Individually, Hiram was led by junior Kritsinee Khowcharoen (Muang, Phitsanulok, Thailand/Fryeburg Academy, Maine) who carded an 87 on the final day and ended the tournament with a total of 171 strokes (84+87=171) to place in a tie for fourth overall. Junior Amelia Mount (Strongsville/Padua) was second with 222 strokes (107+115=222) and senior Sasha Davidson (East Hampton, Conn./East Hampton) was third with 233 strokes (114+119=233). Freshman Carrie Dyer (Canton/McKinley) was fourth on the team with 244 strokes (105+139=244) and senior Jess Cowan (Hiram/Crestwood) rounded out the competitors with a two-day total 263 strokes (133+130=263).
Hiram is scheduled to compete in The College of Wooster Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, Apr. 23-24 at the Wooster Country Club.
