The Hiram College women’s golf team placed ninth at the University of Mount Union Spring Invitational at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance.
Hiram finished the first round with a team-total 420 strokes to place ninth of nine teams. Wittenberg University currently leads the team standings with 326 strokes. Baldwin-Wallace University is second at 336 strokes and Otterbein University rounds out the top three with 341 strokes.
Individually for Hiram, freshman Megan Jennings (Stow/Stow-Munore Falls) recorded the low-round of the day with a first-round total 100 strokes (46+54=100). FreshmanJenelle Bayus (Cortland/Lakeview) and junior Carrie Dyer (Canton/McKinley) were tied for second at 104 strokes. Freshman Taylor Stott (Akron/Archbishop Hoban) carded the fourth best score for the Terriers at 112 strokes (53+59=112) and freshman Alexa Griswold (Conneaut) rounded out the Hiram competitors with an 18-hole total 118 strokes (60+58=118).
