The Hiram College women’s golf team finished eighth at the Ursuline College Fall Invitational at Acacia Country Club in Lyndhurst. [Complete Results]
Hiram finished the one-day, 18-hole event with a team-total of 417 strokes. Walsh University came in first with a team-total of 324 strokes. Division I Bowling Green was second with 330 strokes and Notre Dame College rounded out the top three with 357 strokes.
Individually, the Terriers were led by freshman Janelle Bayus (Cortland/Lakeview) who shot an 18-hole total 97 strokes (49+48=97). Fellow freshman Megan Jennings(Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) was second at 99 strokes (49+50=99) and freshman Alexa Griswold (Conneaut) was third at 109 strokes (53+56=109. Freshman Taylor Stott(Akron/Archbishop Hoban) had the fourth-lowest round for Hiram at 112 strokes (56+56=112) and junior Carrie Dyer (Canton/McKinley) rounded out the Terrier competitors with a tournament-total 132 strokes (66+66=132).
The women’s golf team will next compete in the Heidelberg University Invitational next weekend, Saturday-Sunday (Sept. 22-23), at the Mowhawk Country Club in Tiffin.
