The Hiram College women’s golf team opened its 2012 fall season with an 11th-place finish at the Denison University Fall Invitational at Granville Golf Course in Granville. [Complete Results]
The Terriers finished the two-day event with a team-total 889 strokes (451+438=889) to place 11th of 11 teams. Wittenberg University captured the team title with 652 strokes (332+320=652). Host school Denison was second at 669 strokes (335+334=669) and Otterbein University rounded out the top-three with 672 strokes (334+338=672).
Individually, Megan Jennings led Hiram with a two-day total 202 strokes (102+100=202) and placed in a tie for 49th overall. Alexa Griswold was second on the team at 218 strokes (114+104=218) and Carrie Dyer was third with a tournament total 227 strokes (118+109=227). Taylor Stott carded a total of 242 strokes (117+125=242) and Rebecca Fleischmann rounded out the Hiram competitors at 305 strokes (137+168=305).
Hiram will next complete at the one-day, single-round Ursuline College Invitational on Friday, Sept. 14.
