Hiram College

The 2020 Hiram College Lindsay-Crane Center for Writing & Literature has announced its Creative Nonfiction Contest winners. Written pieces were judged by Jake Maynard, a Hiram alum and accomplished writer in rural Pennsylvania. This contest was open to all Hiram College students, and all submitted work was original and unpublished. The winners received a monetary award along with recognition of their success.

The winners are:

First Place: “Drowning Episodes” by Amir Riddle
Second Place: “Transparency” by Jordyn Parks
Third Place: “Mr. Arbery” by Grace Lutat
Honorable Mention: “Tulips” by Kritika Bhau

The Lindsay-Crane Center for Writing and Literature was founded in 2006 and is named after Nicholas Vachel Lindsay and Harold Hart Crane, two poets with close ties to Northeastern Ohio.
