Feb. 1 Fireside Chat Speaker Turned a Creative Idea into a Successful Brand
Third-generation winemaker Marisa Sergi said she wanted to make a wine fit for a redhead, and so she did. Sergi, founder and CEO of Redhead Wines of Lowellville, will talk about her business journey, entrepreneurial spirit and brand loyalty as well as share samples of her wine on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 7 p.m. at Hiram College’s East Hall Forum. Open to the public, this free program is presented by the Center for Integrated Entrepreneurship.
Sergi began her company with a bottle label she created as part of her capstone project when she was a Cornell University student. Her wine, a zinfandel and carmenère blend, delivers sweetness and spice, “just like a redhead,” she says.
As her company’s leader, Sergi remains focused on various aspects of her business, from securing 2015 and 2016 Silver Medals at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition to her current project, expanding from the Ohio market to a national launch.
