A change is happening across the country as more adults choose to go back to college to start or finish their bachelor’s degree.
On Oct. 29, Hiram’s Weekend College showcased what it can do for adult learners at its first SuccessFEST. The event functioned as an open house, where visitors could attend sample courses, receive financial aid consultation, have their transcript renewed and network with others.
Keynote speaker Sandra K. Lisko, a 2007 Weekend College graduate, talked about Hiram’s lifelong gift. Lisko has worked in the banking industry for over 35 years and has held numerous management positions, including her current position as vice president, regional marketing manager at Huntington Bank.
Hiram provides a unique opportunity for adult learners, as they can attend classes on the weekends. The small college setting and personal touch from the faculty and staff stands in stark contrast to the large classes and online learning that is typical of adult programs.
