MEADVILLE, PA. — The Hiram College volleyball team defeated Allegheny College, 3-0, tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 5) in a North Coast Athletic Conference match in Meadville, Pa.
With the win, the Terriers improve to 14-7 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 5-0. The Gators fall to 7-14 overall and 3-3 NCAC.
Hiram defeated Allegheny in the first set with the score of 25-18. In the second set, the final score would be close, but Hiram would prevail by the final of 25-21 and take a 2-0 match lead. The Terriers sealed the deal by winning the third set, 25-19, for the 3-0 match sweep.
Hiram will continue its NCAC schedule with a rematch against No. 4 nationally-ranked Wittenberg University on Saturday, Oct. 9 in Springfield. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. The Terriers defeated the Tigers in straight sets, 3-0, earlier this season in Hiram.
