HIRAM, OHIO – The Hiram College Terriers volleyball team will start North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament play as the number two seed in the conference after earning a share of the regular-season conference title with number one seed Wittenberg University. Hiram College will play number three seed, The College of Wooster, at 8:00 p.m. The winner of the tournament, featuring the top four teams in the conference, will go on to play the winner of Wittenberg and fourth-seeded Denison University. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov.6, at 2:00 p.m. A win for Hiram will be their 10th straight match win of the season.
The Terriers earned their second regular-season conference title, and their first since 2005, with a 13-1 NCAC record, 23-9 overall. The winner of the conference tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Tournament, which begins Friday, Nov. 19.
Hiram is led offensively by Junior All-NCAC outside hitter Shaina Bryan (South Euclid/Brush), who leads the team with 369 kills (3.21 k/s). Senior setter Alyssa Coundourides (Brunswick/Parma-Padua Franciscan) leads the team in assists with 691 assists (6.01 a/s).
Defensively the Terriers are led by senior All-NCAC libero Kim Sage (Bellevue), who has compiled an even 400 digs this season (3.96 d/s)
