UNIVERSITY CIRCLE, OHIO  —  The Hiram College volleyball team was defeated by Case, 3-1 (25-17, 17-25, 25-27, 17-25), Wednesday night (Sept. 29) in a non-conference match in University Circle.  [Match Stats]

The loss ended a five-match win streak for the Terriers who are now 13-7 overall.  The Spartans improve to 13-3 overall for the season.

The Hiram offense was led by sophomore outside hitter Ariel Pund (Macedonia/Walsh Jesuit) with 13 kills.  Junior All-North Coast Athletic Conference outside hitter Shaina Bryan (South Euclid/Brush) was second with 11 kills.  Senior setter Alyssa Coundourides (Brunswick/Parma-Padua Franciscan) tallied a team-best 25 set assists, followed by freshman setter Kallie Rogers (Petersburg/Springfield Local) with 15 assists.

Defensively, the Terriers were led by Pund who had nine digs.  Junior middle hitters Andrea Kaminsky (Canton/GlenOak) and Krsiti Opfer (Garrettsville/Garfield) each finished the match with a team-high five total blocks.

Hiram will resume its NCAC schedule when it travels to Meadville, Pa. for a match against Allegheny College on Tuesday, Oct. 5.  The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
