CLEVELAND, OHIO — Senior guard Jess Cowan (Hiram/Crestwood) and junior guard Kelsey Durichko (Brunswick) have both been named to the 2010-11 All-North Coast Athletic Conference Team for their efforts this season. Both players were tabbed honorable mention. [2011 All-NCAC Team]
Hiram finished the season with a single-season record-tying 12 victories (12-14 overall) and qualified for the NCAC Tournament as the sixth seed.
Cowan started all 26 games this season and finished second on the team in scoring at 11.6 points per game while shooting 33.0 percent (96-of-291) from the floor. She led the team in three-pointers made with 45 and was tied for the team-lead in rebounds with 169 (6.5 rebounds per game). Cowan was also amongst the team-leaders in free-throw shooting, converting 64-of-94 attempts for a 68.1 shot percentage. In addition, she was second in assists (57), was third in steals (30) and fourth in blocked shots (five).
For her career, Cowan played in 99 games and scored 782 points (7.9 ppg.) with a 33.6 lifetime shot percentage (253-of-752). She also shot 29.9 percent from three-point range (103-of-344), and 64.1 percent (173-of-270) from the free-throw line. In addition, Cowan grabbed 345 rebounds during her career (3.5 rpg.) while tallying 155 assists, 69 steals and 11 blocks.
Durichko also started all 26 games this season at point guard and averaged 6.8 ppg. on 30.1 percent (53-of-176) shooting from the floor. She led the team in assists with a single-season record 138 and was tied with Cowan for the team-lead in rebounding with 169 (6.5 rpg.). Durichko also led the team in steals with 56. In addition, she ended the season amongst the team leaders in free-throws made with 59 in a team-best 99 attempts.
