CLEVELAND, OHIO — Hiram College swimmers Job Fields (Chillicothe) and Caitlin McCurley (Apple Valley/Granite Hills) have been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Swimmers of the Week. [NCAC Swim Release]
Fields was the only men’s individual event winner this past week in a non-conference dual meet against Grove City (Pa.) College on Saturday (Dec. 10) in Pittsburgh, Pa. Fields won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:13.66, winning the event by 10 one-hundredths of a second. Fields also recorded a top-three finish in the 1000-yard free in which he touched the wall in second place in a time of 11:01.04.
McCurley was one of two event winners this past weekend in a non-conference tri-meet against Chatham (Pa.) University and Grove City. McCurley touched the wall first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:51.83 and also finished second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:33.18).
The Hiram swim teams will be idle until Friday, Jan. 13 when the Terriers host The College of Wooster in the North Coast Athletic Conference opener at Alumni Memorial Pool. The first event will begin at 6 p.m.
