HIRAM, OHIO — Hiram College football player and senior defensive lineman Jarrod Lewis (Petersburg/Springfield Local) has been named this week’s North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Hiram posted its first win of the season this past Saturday (Sept. 10) against Kenyon College, 16-13, in the NCAC and home opener at Charles A. Henry Field. With the win, the Terriers improve to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
Lewis recorded one tackle in the win, but sealed the victory for Hiram with an interception with just seconds remaining in the game ending a possible scoring drive by the Lords. For the season, Lewis has tallied two tackles so far to go along with the one interception.
Hiram will travel to Granville for a NCAC game against Denison University next Saturday, Sept. 17. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
