Hiram College women’s basketball player and senior forward Brenna Host (Seven Hills/Normandy) has been named this week’s North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

This past week, Host helped lead the Terriers to a victory against Denison University on senior day in Hiram’s only contest.  She recorded her first career double-double with career-highs of 23 points and 11 rebounds.  In addition, she had two blocks and two steals against the Big Red.  The victory also helped Hiram secure a spot in the NCAC postseason which begins tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 19).

For the season, Host has played in all 25 games and started 21.  She is currently fourth on the team in scoring averaging 5.7 points per game while shooting 32.9 percent (57-of-173) from the field.  Host is third on the team in rebounding with 96 (3.8 rebounds per game) to go along with 23 assists offensively.  As a defender, Host leads the team in blocked shots with 18 and has 28 steals.

Hiram will travel to Greencastle, Ind. for a quarterfinal matchup against No. 1 nationally-ranked DePauw University, who is the top seed in this year’s conference tournament, tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 29).  The game is scheduled to tip-off at 8 p.m.
