The Center for the Study of Nature and Society will present the talk “Plant Biology and Problem-Solving to Create Public and Environmental Benefit” at 4:15 p.m. on April 2, 2014, in the Library Instruction Room.
Alumnus William Goldner ’78, biology major, will be the speaker.
Goldner will recount experiences and lessons he learned during his career in academia, industry and most recently, the United States Department of Agriculture. He background is wide-ranging, from plant physiology, genetics and horticultur,e to stripmine reforestation, sugarcane, plantation forestry, vanilla production, small business development, and finally bioenergy and biobased products. He will also share his perspective on what industry and government looks for when hiring new employees.
