Mark Taylor, Ph.D., associate professor of physics, and Su Latt ’15, physics major from Yangon, Myanmar, presented their research at the American Physical Society, Ohio Region, 2015 Spring Meeting held at Kent State University on March 27-28, 2015.
Latt presented a poster (coauthored with Dr. Taylor) entitled “Phase diagram of a multi-domain heteropolymer: A computer simulation study”.
Taylor gave a talk (coauthored with alumnus Samip Basnet ’14 and Jutta Luettmer-Strathmann) entitled “Partition function zeros for the polymer adsorption transition.”
The focus topic of this meeting was the phase diagram of quark-matter; however, the meeting included talks and posters covering all areas of physics.
Also attending this meeting were students Ryogo Suzuki ’16, physics major from Tokyo, Japan; Christian Walker ’16, physics major from Struthers, Ohio; Christian O’Neil ’18, biochemistry major from Youngstown, Ohio; Joseph Rozalski ’18, physics major from Conneaut, Ohio; Christopher Vinci ’18, of Shaker Heights, Ohio; and Laura Van Wormer, professor and chair of the Physics Department and secretary of the Ohio Section of the APS.
The work of Dr. Taylor and his students was funded by a research grant from the National Science Foundation, Division of Material Research.
