The Hiram College community rallied against cancer April 25-26 at the fourth annual campus Relay for Life event.
Rain kept the event indoors, but that didn’t stop more than 250 students and community members from supporting the cause and raising about $6,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Jason Close ’16, chair of Hiram’s Relay for Life event, said he was pleased with the turnout and hopes to continue to grow the event during his next two years at Hiram College.
“I believe it is a good baseline to build on for years to come,” he said. “I am looking forward to working with my advisers, committee and the community to make next year’s event even better than this year’s in all aspects, including money raised, teams involved and participants.”
Donations to Hiram’s Relay for Life event can still be made online.
