The Hiram College men’s swimming & diving team fell to Division II foe Malone 122-62 on Friday evening.

The Terriers fall to 0-3 on the season, while the Pioneers improve to 5-0.

Freshman Jonathan Ruiz (Freeport, N.Y.) finished second in the 50-meter freestyle in 26.52.

In the 100-meter freestyle, sophomore Jamal Hill (Inglewood, Calif./Junipero Serra) finished second in 1:04.01 and freshman Julian Gilbert (University Heights/Cleveland Heights) was right behind in third in 1:11.47.

Freshman John Kost (Chantill, Va./Westfield) was second in the 200-meter backstroke in 2:31.61 and junior Christian Kelly (Walpole, Mass.) was third in 2:47.03.

Sophomore Jordan Canevari (Vero Beach, Fla./St. Edwards) and freshman Kyle Sarver(Parma/Parma Senior) were second and third in the 400-meter freestyle in 4:54.14 and 4:56.67, respectively.

Hiram has a quick turnaround and will be in action on Saturday, with a tri-meet against Wooster and Olivet (Mich.) at 1 p.m.
