HIRAM, OHIO — Hiram College men’s soccer players Ryan Greenhill (Solon) and Ryan Minick (North Royalton) have been selected to the NCAA Division All-Great Lakes Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Greenhill and Minick played intricate roles in leading the Terriers to a 10-6-1 overall record in 2011 and finished third in the North Coast Athletic Conference with a 5-4 mark. Hiram also qualified for its third-ever appearance in the NCAC Tournament.
Greenhill, a 5’7″ junior midfielder, started all 16 games he played in and scored three goals, including a team-tying high two game-winning goals, to go along with a team-leading eight assists for 14 total points. His eight assists tied him for second in the NCAC and his 14 points this season was tied for 12th. In addition, Greenhill has posted 20 assists during his career which puts him in a tie for fourth all-time in program history. Earlier this offseason, Greenhill was tabbed first-team All-NCAC, his third All-Conference Award overall. He earned second-team honors in 2010 and was a honorable mention pick as a freshman. Greenhill also excels in the classroom and became the first men’s soccer player to be named Capital One Academic All-American in 2011 after being named Academic All-District the past two seasons (2010-11).
Minick, a 5’9″ junior forward, had a standout season this past fall. He played in 17 games and started 15 while leading the team in goals scored (11) and total points (28). Minick’s 11 goals ranked fourth most in the conference. In addition, he ranked second on the team in assists with six. Minick tallied a team-leading 67 shots for a .164 shot percentage with two game-winning goals and converted the team’s only penalty kick attempt this season. Minick was also selected first-team All-NCAC earlier this season which was his second All-Conference award in his career. He was a second-team selection in 2010.
