HIRAM, OHIO — The Hiram College Terriers men’s soccer team fell to the No.7 ranked Ohio Wesleyan University Battling Bishops tonight, 3-0, in a North Coast Athletic Conference game at the Hiram Soccer Complex [Game Statistics]
With the loss, the Terriers drop to 5-10-0 overall and are 2-3 in the NCAC. The Bishops improve to 10-1-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the NCAC.
The first Ohio Wesleyan goal would be all Ohio Wesleyan would need as Jon Stegner put the Bishops up 1-0 with an unassisted goal at the 4:00 minute mark.
In the second half, Ohio Wesleyan widened the gap when Stegner scored his second goal of the game, a rebound goal 47:30 into the match making the score 2-0. The Bishops put the cap on the contest following a header by Travis Wall at the 72:25 mark making the final 3-0
In goal for Hiram, sophmore Joe Rottinger (Strongsville) had a number of acrobatic saves, tallying five on the game, and played all 90 minutes, but suffered his second loss of the season and is now 2-2 on the year.
Hiram will travel to Gambier for an NCAC contest against Kenyon College on Wednesday, Oct. 20. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
