MEADVILLE, PA. — The Hiram College men’s soccer team fell short of Allegheny College, 1-0, tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 18) in a North Coast Athletic Conference game in Meadville, Pa. [Game Stats]
Following tonight’s game, the Terriers are now 8-4-1 overall and 3-3 in the NCAC. The Gators improve to 11-3-1 overall and 4-1-1 NCAC.
The only goal of the game would come at the 29:30 minute mark of the first half when Allegheny’s Andrew Miller found the empty net to give the Gators a 1-0 lead.
Hiram recorded eight shots in the second half, but could not tie the game as Allegheny held on for the 1-0 victory.
In goal for the Terriers, junior Joe Rottinger (Strongsville) played all 90 minutes, but falls to 8-4-1 overall for the season with the loss. He allowed the lone goal and made six saves.
Hiram will host Wabash (Ind.) College on Saturday, Oct. 22 in a NCAC matchup at Charles A. Henry Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
