The Hiram College men’s soccer team was defeated by The College of Wooster, 1-0, in a North Coast Athletic Conference game at Charles A. Henry Field in the home finale on senior night.
Wooster (5-9-1, 3-5 NCAC) scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game at the 15:12 minute mark off the foot of Kieffer Hessler. Hiram (5-12-1, 2-6 NCAC) recorded five shots, but none would find the back of the net as the Fighting Scots led 1-0 at the break.
In the second half, the Terriers managed two shots, but again failed to net the equalizer as Wooster hung on for the 1-0 victory.
Junior goalkeeper Chris Minite (Aurora) played all 90 minutes and allowed one goal while making three saves. He was also credited with the loss and is now 3-9 overall for the season.
Hiram will wrap-up the season when it travels to Delaware for a NCAC matchup against No. 2 nationally-ranked Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday, Nov. 2. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
