Hiram College freshman men’s lacrosse player Greg Summers(Lancaster, N.Y./St. Mary’s) has been named honorable mention All-North Coast Athletic Conference for his individual efforts this season in the program’s inaugural season. [2013 Men’s Lacrosse All-NCAC Teams]
Summers becomes the first player at Hiram to garner All-Conference accolades following a season that saw him score a team-leading 21 goals, including five scores on man-up advantages, in 12 games. He also scored four assists for a team-leading 25 total points and averaged 2.08 points per game. Summers also led the team in shots (83), ground balls (50) and faceoff victories (79). In addition, he tallied a team-tying best nine caused turnovers.
His 21 goals this season ranked in a tie for ninth highest in the conference and his 4.17 ground balls per game average was fifth best. In addition, he ranked in the top-five in the NCAC in both shots per game (4.17) and man-up goals per game (0.42).
“We’re very proud of Greg, he really had a great season,” said first-year Head Coach Brian Jenkins. “I didn’t think that we would have an All-NCAC Player at the end of our inaugural season, but Greg really showed that he was the back bone of our program and we are looking forward for Greg to become even more of a leader in this program.”
