The Hiram College men’s lacrosse team was defeated by Oberlin College, 26-0, in a North Coast Athletic Conference game in Oberlin.
In the first half, Oberlin (6-6, 2-4 NCAC) scored early and often in the first quarter scoring 11 goals with its first coming 1:10 into the period to lead 11-0 after the first 15 minutes. The Yeomen continued the offense in the second period finding the back of the net four more times to increase the margin to 15-0 at the intermission.
Coming out of the locker rooms, Oberlin posted six scores in the third quarter and added five more in the fourth to go on to the 26-0 final. Hiram (1-10, 1-5 NCAC) totaled eight shots in the game, but could not get any past the Yeomen netminders.
In net for Hiram, freshman Sawyer Lott (Sunbury/Big Walnut) started the game and played 45 minutes making 15 saves. Fellow freshman Mike Malloy (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) saw action in 15 minutes and posted two saves.
Hiram will conclude its first season on Saturday, Apr. 20 when the Terriers travel to Granville for a NCAC game against Denison University. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
