SHAKER HEIGHTS, OHIO — The Hiram College men’s golf team placed 10th at the rain shortened Pat “Poppa” Fall Invitational hosted by John Carroll University today (Monday, Sept. 12) at the Shaker Heights Country Club in Shaker Heights.
Hiram finished the 27-hole event with a team total of 512 strokes to place 10th overall of 10 teams. Otterbein University won the event in a playoff and finished with an event total of 447 strokes. Host school John Carroll ended up in second also shooting a 447-stroke team total and Baldwin-Wallace College “A” rounded out the top three teams with a total of 450 strokes.
Individually, senior Bryan Todd (Green) and sophomore Chad Casey (South Bend, Ind./John Adams) both shot a 27-hole total of 115 strokes to lead the Terriers and place in a tie for 19th overall. Todd carded rounds of 74 and 41, while Casey fired a 71 and 41. Senior Corey Trusso (Ravenna) was third with a total of 146 (97+49=146) strokes and Jon Hall rounded out the Hiram competitors with a tournament-total of 136 strokes (95+41=136).
Hiram will compete at the University of Mount Union Invitational on Sunday-Monday, Sept. 25-26 at Tannenhauf Golf Course in Alliance.
