WOOSTER, OHIO — The Hiram College men’s golf team finished in seventh place after the final round of The College of Wooster Invitational today (Sunday, Apr. 24) at the Wooster Country Club in Wooster. [Final Results]
The Terriers shot a combined 350 stroke team total on the final day of competition and ended the two-day event with an overall total of 681 strokes (331+350=681) to place seventh overall of nine teams. Wittenberg University won the event with a two-day total of 602 strokes (299+303=602). Ohio Wesleyan University was second with 615 strokes (303+312=615) and Denison University rounded out the top three teams with 628 strokes (314+314=628).
Junior Brian Todd (Green) shot a final round of 81 strokes and ended the tournament with a combined total 164 strokes (83+81=164) to lead the Terriers and finished 22nd overall individually. Freshman Chad Casey (South Bend, Ind./John Adams) was second with a tournament total 168 strokes (79+89=168) and was followed by fellow freshman Ethan Tope (Dalton/Waynedale) in third at 174 strokes (86+88=174). Senior Andy Deehr (Cortland/Champion) finished fourth on the team with a two-day total of 175 strokes (83+92=175) and junior Bob Ritchie (Strongsville/Brunswick) rounded out the Hiram scorers with a tournament total of 186 strokes (89+97=186).
Hiram will host the Hiram Invitational next Saturday-Sunday, Apr. 30-May 1 at Fowler’s Mill Golf Course in Chesterland.
