The Hiram College men’s golf team wrapped up the 2013 fall season with a fourth-place finish at the one-day Lourdes University Invitational at the Barrington Golf Club in Aurora.
Hiram posted an 18-hole team total of 330 strokes to place fourth of six teams. Owens Community College captured the team title with 306 strokes and was followed by Jackson Community College in second with 319 strokes. Host school Lourdes rounded out the top three with 328 strokes.
The Terriers were led individually by junior Kyle Meggas (Lakewood) who carded a 77 and tied him for fourth overall. Sophomore Richard Bacher (West Lafayette, Ind./West Lafayette) was second with an 80 and fellow sophomore Danny Essel (Euclid) posted the third lowest score with 84 strokes. Freshman James Workman (Garrettsville/Garfield) recorded an 18-hole total 89 strokes and senior Ethan Tope (Dalton/Waynedale) rounded out the Hiram competitors with 90 strokes.
Hiram will begin the 2014 spring season at the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, Apr. 5-6.
