The Zeta Lambda Chapter of the National Communication Honors Society, Lambda Pi Eta, recently inducted four new members during the spring 2022 ceremony.

Inductees included:

  • Kearan Barnet ’24 – psychology major, communication minor
  • Richard Furner ’24 – accounting and communication major
  • Alyssa Maraia ’23 – psychology major, communication and Sociology minor
  • Cody Wilson ’23 – educational studies major, communication minor

Lambda Pi Eta is the National Communication Associations official honors society that recognizes undergraduate students in the field of communication. To be considered for Lambda Pi Eta, students must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 with 60 semester hours, as well as a 3.25 GPA in 12 semester hours of communication studies courses. They must also be in the top 35% of their graduating class.

The name Lambda Pi Eta represents the three methods of persuasion described by Aristotle in, “Rhetoric.” Those being logos (Lambda), pathos (Pi), and ethos (Eta). The Zeta Lambda Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta was established at Hiram in 2015.

The chapter also named Sydney Finley-Houston as president for the 2022-2023 academic year.
